Be sure to pick up Radius Media’s 3rd issue which has a profile on Jin Joint team rider Casey McFarland. It will be in stores within the next 2 weeks. This video is going to be insane, so you better get in on pre-order!!!

This was hands down the best St. Patty’s day I can remember. After watching Casey Mcfarland absolutely destroy street spots in down town Phoenix, I got a chance to talk to him about being the second team rider for Jin Joint. After about 15 minutes of telling him what it was all about, I handed him a fat stack of shirts. Casey was really pumped to hear that I liked his skating enough to have him represent the company. And with that, Casey had yet another sponsor to add to his list which includes USD and Revolution Skate Shop. Thanks again to James and Gretchen for letting me stay with you while I was in Arizona.

The first AIL event of the year went off in a big way. Tons of skaters showed up from all over the place, and everyone threw down.<(unintended pun but it works so I’m leaving it there) Congratulations to Brandon Wiese for finishing in sixth place in a field of almost 100 competitors. Jin Joint is proud to support any and all kinds of events that support rollerblading the way the AIL does.

Companies work extremely hard putting products out for people to buy. Don’t go to competitions and steal things. Rat-Tail got robbed as well as countless kids skates, my friend Trevor’s included. Another kid tried stealing from Revolution, but luckily, Spira the enforcer was there to prevent the theft. Dirt bags will not be tolerated.

I would like to thank everyone who bought shirts. We sold a lot more than even I expected. Everyone had great attitudes and seemed to be rocking goods from a bunch of different companies. If you are a rollerblader and have never been to a BCSD event, then I strongly suggest that you make it to next years. The whole vibe in the park during the qualifier, tradeshow, and the pro competition was amazing. Support for everyone and everything came from all sorts of directions. Don’t let message boards confuse you. Just skate.

Brandon Wiese was the first skater asked to represent Jin Joint. It was announced at the Bittercold Showdown. He skated great all day and the judges seemed to notice. If he didn’t smash his shin in the beginning of the semi’s, he would have made it to the finals for sure. I first noticed Brandon at the MTL Classic last August. His high speed skating and flawless style earned him first place in the AM contest. Brandon’s overall attitude and the way he carried himself made it impossible for me to want any other person to be the first to represent Jin Joint.

This year’s Bittercold Showdown will be the first event of many future events that Jin Joint will be a part of. Events like this are extremely important and people owe a lot to organizers like Daniel Kinney. I am really looking forward to see how people will embrace a new company. Feel free to come by and see what we’re all about, and maybe even pick up a fresh new shirt. You can also check out who Jin Joint’s first rider will be?!?!
